Greetings from your reunion planning committee! We are all looking forward to welcoming you to our beautiful Island next summer as we gather to celebrate our 45th reunion.
We hope that by now you have made a commitment to attend the reunion in PEI. The planning committee have met several times this autumn and I wish to let you know of some of the activities we have planned.

What a good looking group!
Sometimes pictures speak louder than words. That's why we're excited to introduce our new image gallery, a fantastic way to see what our branch has been up to. Below you will notice a collection of photos from our recent events. Click on the thumbnail to see the full image.

New Project for the Class of ‘68
The Oval Awards have accomplished the goal of the Macdonald Class of ’68 to give back to the University. Our second five-year plan for the Oval Awards has been surpassed. Not only did we contribute enough funds to establish two scholarships, but we went beyond that goal by increasing the value of the endowment to allow us to increase the awards from $2,000 to $2,500 each per year.
Our new five-year project will be to raise capital to establish a third Oval Award. This will require an additional $50,000 toward the present endowment fund. The executive is currently researching the student body to determine what the qualifications will be for the third Oval Award. When this is established, an announcement will be forthcoming.
As of June 2012, the value of the endowment fund is over $135,000. Our goal is $150,000 by June 2013, prior to our summer reunion in P.E.I. (scheduled for August 20th to 22nd). We appreciate your continuing to make the oval awards a success.
Please make your contributions payable to McGill University and specify the gift is designated for the “Macdonald Class of 1968 Special Class Project.” Donations should be mailed to:

Members of the Class of 1968 continue to appreciate and benefit from their Macdonald education and remember “The Oval” as the centre of the campus during their years at the College as well as a symbol of the heritage and spirit of Macdonald.
After collecting $80,000, the Macdonald Class of 1968 created an awards program. The program is called the 1968 Oval Awards for Campus and Academic Activity. It was established in 2004 and currently its awards are presented to two students, one in the Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences and one in the School of Dietetics and Human Nutrition.
In addition to having high academic standings, the recipients must also have participated in student life and/or athletic activities in a manner that reflects both achievement and an appreciation of the value of student life on the Macdonald Campus. From 2004 to 2008 inclusive each student received $2000. The class continued to raise funds and, in 2009, each Oval Award will be valued at $2500.

The Macdonald Degree Class of 1968 has been extremely successful in maintaining up-to-date lists of where classmates are located. Of the 152 students who graduated in Agriculture and Home Economics, there are only seven classified as “lost sheep."
Seventeen classmates have passed away over the years and are part of our honoured “In Memoriam” album maintained by Nancy (Chapin) Kurz. We also distribute a quarterly email newsletter that reaches 118 of 133 classmates throughout Canada and the United States, Europe , Australia , New Zealand , Africa , Singapore and the West Indies .
This page is dedicated to finding those classmates whom we have lost and honouring those that have passed on.
