At the McGill Alumni Association, we know that students are never short on inspiration, but that sometimes you do need a little extra money to get your ideas off the ground. Likewise, we believe in the importance of giving back and recognizing the generosity of the many donors who support the University. Here are a few ways that we help students in the area of funding:
Each year the McGill Alumni Association awards over $17,000 in funding to student groups. McGill students are encouraged to apply for a subsidy to pursue special projects – such as events that are cultural, athletic or educational in nature – which would benefit the entire University community. Please check back in January of 2015 for information on the next intake of applications.
Students who received a bursary this year can thank the donor or donors who made it all possible. Through this website, you can submit a letter of appreciation to the individual or family responsible for your funding. It only takes a few minutes to thank these benefactors, and in the process your message illustrates the impact of their support. Send your letter >>
McGill offers a wide range of scholarships and bursaries to incoming and in-course students. The University’s Scholarships and Student Aid Office is your best resource on what opportunities are available, the selection criteria of individual awards and specific application processes. Learn more >>
Since 1989, each McGill graduating class has contributed to the Class Action program. This annual fundraising project is an opportunity for your class to leave a lasting legacy at McGill that benefits students or the greater Montreal community. In partnership with the McGill Alumni Association, a committee of graduating students chooses the project and encourages their peers to get involved. Learn more >>
