Recognition and Awards

MAA 2014 Honours and Awards

Each spring the McGill Alumni Association recognizes those graduates and friends whose commitment has had a particularly significant impact on alumni life and the University at the annual Honours and Awards Banquet. Thanks to these volunteers, hundreds of events take place throughout the year – everything from class reunions and special alumni receptions to lectures by McGill experts or career development sessions with prominent McGill alumni. Many others provide crucial support and guidance in McGill fundraising efforts or offer their expertise to academic units and governing bodies.

Meet this year's MAA Honours and Awards winners: the people who lead McGill’s international network of alumni branches, the students and young graduates who are making a difference in communities on campus and around the world, and the alumni who have made a lasting impact on McGill through decades of service to the University.

Join us on May 8 at the Honours and Awards Banquet

Honorary degrees

The McGill Alumni Association has the privilege of recommending names of distinguished graduates to receive an honorary degree from the University. A candidate worthy of consideration for an honorary degree should have made an outstanding contribution in the field of his/her professional work and/or in the field of public service. It may be assumed that the candidates recommended by the McGill Alumni Association would also be expected to have made a special contribution to the work of the Association and to the prestige of the University.  Learn more >>
